Role in a session. The hood is the moment identity disappears. A smoothed face, with no visible eyes or mouth, stops being a face: the psychological effect is immediate, for the wearer as much as for whoever is looking. Deprived of sight, you lose your spatial bearings, you anticipate nothing, and attention folds entirely onto touch, heat and breath.
