Role in a session. This is the piece that makes the constraint irreversible. The final step is to close the box, then lock its own key inside the connected key box, locked for a duration set in advance.

Precautions. Locking for a set duration never removes the need for a physical way out: a spare key sealed in opaque plastic, a timer box or a key frozen in a block of ice will do, and must stay in the room.
